Exterior Restoration and Redecoration

At the Parish Council building in Bishops Cleeve, a full exterior wood restoration and redecoration project was carried out, focusing on extensive preparation of the timber cladding.

The works required full scaffolding to safely access and treat all elevated and hard-to-reach areas. The existing woodwork had suffered significant environmental exposure, including sun damage and pronounced black burn marks across the cladding. To address this, a targeted restoration process was undertaken using oxalic acid, carefully applied to lift staining and restore the natural tone of the timber without compromising the integrity of the wood fibres.

Following treatment, the entire surface was thoroughly jet washed to remove residue and ensure a clean, sound substrate for finishing. Once fully prepared and dry, the cladding was sealed with Osmo clear satin wood finish, providing long-term protection while enhancing the natural grain and appearance of the timber.

The result is a refreshed and protected exterior that preserves the character of the building while significantly improving its durability and visual appeal.
